Ministry of Industry Launches “Women in Industry Association” to Strengthen Female Leadership Across the Sector

Women’s participation in the industrial sector records 232% growth, exceeding 105,000 jobs by 2025

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced the establishment of the “Women in Industry Association” as a non-profit organization aimed at narrowing gaps and supporting female talent across the industrial and mining sectors.

The initiative comes as part of broader efforts to strengthen the role of non-profit organizations in supporting economic development and aligning educational outcomes with the rapidly changing requirements of the industrial labor market.

The association aims to build a more inclusive and diverse work environment while preparing female leaders to work with advanced manufacturing technologies. It will also serve as a link between industry stakeholders and decision-makers to address challenges facing women in this vital sector.

Figures Reflecting a Major Shift

Saudi Arabia has recorded significant progress in advancing women’s participation in the industrial sector. The number of women employed in the sector increased from modest levels in 2019 to 105,360 women by 2025, representing a growth of 232%.

Women’s overall participation in the labor market also rose to 37%, positioning Saudi Arabia among the leading regional markets in developing and utilizing national talent across different sectors.

Academic Partnerships and Professional Development

As part of its operational strategy, the association will focus on building partnerships with local and international academic institutions and conducting studies and research aimed at supporting long-term workplace development for women.

The association will also work to strengthen the presence of Saudi talent in international industrial forums, contributing to higher participation from the non-profit sector in Saudi Arabia’s GDP in alignment with Vision 2030 objectives.

What This Means for the Business Sector

The establishment of this association creates a strategic opportunity for factories and industrial companies to further develop their human resources policies and attract qualified female professionals who have demonstrated strong capabilities across manufacturing, quality control, and operational management.

Investment in workforce diversity has increasingly become an operational and economic consideration tied to productivity, efficiency, and industrial innovation across Saudi Arabia’s manufacturing sector.

In this context, Absher Business supports industrial companies and investors in building regulatory structures, organizing incorporation and compliance procedures, and developing operational frameworks aligned with changes taking place across the Saudi labor market, helping businesses benefit from expanding opportunities within the industrial sector.
