A large industrial and logistics project adds new capacity to Dubai’s vehicle trade, assembly, and export activity.
Dubai-based Legend Holding Group announced an AED 500 million investment to expand in the automotive sector through a new regional headquarters at Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). The one-million-square-foot site will include a motorcycle assembly line and an export-focused center, built to support end-to-end automotive operations.
The facility will serve as the main operating base for Legend Motors, covering vehicle storage, preparation, distribution, and after-sales services. The group said the hub will support deliveries to more than 100 markets worldwide, in line with Dubai’s plans to attract high-value mobility and manufacturing projects.
Two-Phase Rollout With Rising Capacity
Legend Holding Group said the project will be delivered in two phases:
- Phase 1: capacity for 5,000 vehicles by April 2026
- Phase 2: a multi-storey facility with capacity for 20,000+ vehicles by January 2028
Nagaraj Ponnada, General Manager of Legend Motors, said JAFZA was selected for its role in global export flows, supported by advanced infrastructure and a flexible business setup. He added that the new hub will strengthen distribution, improve logistics performance, and focus on safe operations with lower environmental impact.
Solar Power, Automation, and Motorcycle Assembly
The group said the site will include solar power systems expected to reduce energy use by up to 15%, along with automated systems for vehicle handling and logistics operations.
The project also includes a dedicated motorcycle assembly line with capacity of up to 10,000 units per year, covering both electric and non-electric models intended for GCC markets.
At full operation, the site is expected to handle more than 120,000 vehicles per year, covering movement, storage, and preparation.
A New Addition to Dubai’s Automotive Cluster
Abdulla Al Hashmi, Chief Operating Officer of DP World GCC, said the investment supports Dubai’s work to build a complete automotive ecosystem. He added that mobility clusters in JAFZA, along with the growth of Dubai’s vehicle market, are supporting infrastructure that can serve manufacturing, distribution, and export at scale.
The project will add capacity to JAFZA’s automotive sector cluster, which currently includes more than 940 companies, supported by direct access to Jebel Ali Port and multi-modal logistics networks.
What This Means for the Business Environment
The new hub is expected to create skilled jobs across logistics, engineering, and operations. It will also expand local capacity in vehicle handling, assembly, and supply chain management.
The development aligns with the Dubai Auto Market project led by DP World, which is expected to become one of the world’s largest integrated automotive trading hubs.
In this environment, Absher Business supports industrial and mobility companies by helping them assess free zone setup options, select suitable legal structures, and complete licensing and operational requirements to support regional and global expansion from Dubai.
