Eaton Launches Advanced Industrial Project in Dubai, Strengthening Its Manufacturing Role

A new multi-million-dollar site in Jebel Ali Free Zone supports D33 priorities and is expected to create more than 700 skilled jobs.

Eaton, a company focused on intelligent power management solutions, has begun construction on the first phase of a sustainable facility for advanced manufacturing, engineering, and training in Dubai. The project is being developed in partnership with Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), part of DP World. Covering 36,000 square meters, the facility adds new capacity to Dubai’s advanced manufacturing landscape.

The project reflects Dubai’s push to expand an industrial base built on advanced technologies, aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to strengthen the emirate’s role as a global hub for manufacturing and innovation. The investment is expected to create more than 700 jobs, including specialized roles in R&D, engineering, and manufacturing, serving markets across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

A Long-Term Industrial Investment

Paulo Ruiz, CEO of Eaton, said the partnership with DP World and JAFZA matches Dubai’s direction to accelerate sustainable industrial growth and strengthen the UAE’s position in manufacturing and innovation. He added that the new facility will expand Eaton’s ability to meet rising demand for power solutions that deliver efficiency, safety, and sustainability across the region and beyond.

Hadi Badri, CEO of the Dubai Economic Development Corporation, said Eaton’s investment supports Dubai’s position in advanced manufacturing, backed by specialized talent, continued investment in R&D, and smart factory models. He added that the project reflects global confidence in Dubai’s investment environment, supported by modern infrastructure, a business-friendly ecosystem, and a talent base capable of supporting future industries.

Industry 4.0 at the Core of the Project

The facility will deploy 20 Industry 4.0 technologies, including AI and smart manufacturing. This will strengthen Dubai’s ability to produce advanced electrical and electronic components for sectors such as data centers, commercial buildings, and public utilities.

Its location within JAFZA also provides access to Jebel Ali Port’s integrated logistics network, supporting efficient supply chains for both regional and international markets.

The site will also include a strategic engineering center, bringing together specialized engineers focused on product development, sustainable manufacturing, and new power management solutions, adding value to Dubai’s industrial sector.

JAFZA as a Base for Advanced Manufacturing

Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC, said Eaton’s move into JAFZA aligns with Dubai’s plans to strengthen its leadership in advanced manufacturing. He noted that the industrial sector contributed more than AED 37.6 billion to GDP in 2024. With Dubai’s industrial strategy targeting an additional USD 5 billion in growth by 2030, advanced and sustainability-focused industrial projects are becoming increasingly central to the next phase of development.

What This Means for the Business Environment

The investment points to growing interest from global companies in Dubai’s strengths, including specialized free zones, strong infrastructure, and efficient logistics links. It also shows that advanced manufacturing is becoming a core part of regional expansion plans for technology-driven companies.

In this environment, Absher Business supports industrial and technology companies by helping them assess free zone setup options, choose the right legal structure, and complete licensing and operational steps in line with their growth plans in Dubai and regional markets.
